A Year of Growth

In 2022, Sabrina and I had to continue our philanthropy virtually, as we were unable to fit the time into our busy work schedules to quarantine ourselves as foreign visitors in China. Although the situation was not up to par and it was difficult to break the news to our Tibetan friends, we still persevered to make the most out of our virtual outreach, and everyone involved — whether in America or China — ended up greatly proud and pleased by the work done by the Helping Tibet Foundation!
With the help of Sabrina’s recently incorporated Music Media, we were ultimately able to buy and send every item on the children’s wishlists to the Tibetan mountains. While we were recording what the schoolchildren listed as their desired gifts in our countless video chats with them and the tulkus, we realized an emerging trend — the students seemed deeply passionate about the scientific world and the overall, broader global world.
Inspired by our Tibetan friends’ newly found interests, the Helping Tibet Foundation set to work. We sought to find affordable and high-quality gifts that would accurately and effectively introduce the children of Tibet’s mountainous villages to the modern and internationally-connected world.
Sabrina and I finally settled on donating telescopes, microscopes, experiment kits, globes, and Western chess, along with other items added in just for fun, such as xiangqi (Chinese chess), sternhalma (Chinese checkers), watercolor supplies, Lego sets, and as always, more toys and books. When the village received our donations, we picked up a video chat called by hyper-excited students and elated tulkus.
Watching the schoolchildren tinker with their scientific equipment and their new games brought immense joy to Sabrina and me…we cannot wait to see the future of the Helping Tibet Foundation and of the children!
